My Volunteering Experience

I started volunteering with the eagar to organize community events when I was just 13 years old, I began my journey with the Youth Chapter of my estate. Since then, I have explored and expanded my volunteering involvement with various government agencies and committees to contribute back to society and make a positive impact to my community.

People's Association (PA) Grassroots Leader

I have been a Grassroots Leader with PA since 2019, and I am the current Media & Publicity Secretary of Yew Tee Youth Network and executive member at The Quintet Neighbourhood Committee.

My time at Yew Tee Youth Network has given me ample opportunities to lead, plan and execute projects from the ground up, and also play a part in larger scaled community events. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I was given the opportunity to give back by assisting with the distribution of masks and TraceTogether tokens to residents. Our events and projects did not end there, we took the chance to move our regular programs online and I am humbled to be given the chance to be part of the team for Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC Virtual Countdown 2020, Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC National Day Celebration 2021 as well as the Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC Esports Festival 2021.

One of my proudest achievement is probably being the Media & Publicity Lead for PULSE! Esports 2022 and 2023 - PULSE! Esports! is an annual youth esports competition organised by the People’s Association Youth Movement (PAYM). The competition aims to bring together gamers from all walks of life. Over 300 competitors across FIFA, Valorant & Mobile Legends were brought together in the latest iteration.

North West Youth Assembly (YA)

North West Youth Assembly (YA) is a youth voluntary group by the North West Community Development Council comprising youth leaders between the ages of 14 and 35. I have been with YA since 2017, and have taken on many positions to reach Vice-Chairman today overseeing the social media aspects, as well as providing advise to the executive committee.

Throughout my time in YA, I have partaked and planned various community projects that greater benefit the residents of North West District.

Chingay Parade Singapore

I have been actively volunteering with the Chingay Parade as a Parade Production Crew Volunteer since 2020, and have grown to appreciate the various arts and culture of Singapore.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Chingay went digital for the first time. I volunteered with Chingay Meals on Wheels to deliver cheers and meals to needy residents on the day of digital Chingay.

Youth Expedition Project (YEP) Cambodia

I participated in YEP Cambodia from 11th September to 22nd September 2023 with a small team of 18 students from Singapore Polytechnic for service-learning in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

We supported the Boys Brigade Learning Centre Organization (BBLC) with infrasturcture works as well as taught the children attending there the English language. Apart from that, we also managed to learn more about the history and culture of Cambodia which was eye opening.

This trip not only forged unforgettable connections and memories but taught me an important lesson to cherish whatever I have here in Singapore.
